Having the convenient and immediate access to the many medications that our hospital provides ensures pets can start recommended medications right away. If you need to refill medications, our staff will authorize your refill with the doctor and prepare it for you to pick up; often eliminating the need to pick up from a pharmacy. The convenience of seeing your pet's doctor and being able to pick up your pet's prescription medication on a single visit reduces time and cost.
We are open for wellness appointments Monday through Friday. During a wellness visit, the doctor will do a thorough physical exam on your pet, and answer any questions you may have about your pet's health. The doctor can make suggestions for your pet regarding proper diet, exercise, and dental care. We also ask that you bring your pet's vaccine history with you, so we can ensure they are up to date on vaccines.

Here at LAH, we have in-house laboratory equipment and x-ray capabilities; therefore, we can do basic bloodwork and x-rays your pet may need. We also work with a local laboratory where we send specimans for further analysis. If we feel your pet needs further diagnostics that we cannot provide here, we will refer you to a specialist or animal hospital that can perform those services.
The American Veterinary Dental Society reports that 80 percent of dogs and 70 percent of cats show signs of oral disease by age three. By the time most owners recognize oral disease in their pets, the problem is chronic and progressive. We can perform dental cleanings on Mondays and Fridays. All of our dentals are done by appointment. Dentals include ultrasonic scaling, polishing, full oral examination and fluoride treatment. Tooth extractions, antibiotics, and pain medications are included when necessary.
We carry many prescriptions foods that your animal may need. We offer our clients Purina, Royal Canin and Hill's Prescription diets.

We understand that it can be a very difficult decision to put your companion to sleep. When you and your family have decided the time is right, we prefer to do this by appointment. You can choose if you wish to be with your pet during the whole appointment or just for a small part. When you arrive for your appointment, the doctor will begin by giving a intramuscular anesthetic injection. Then when your pet is unconscious, we will do the final intravenous injection. You have some options for the aftercare of your pet. You are more then welcome to take your pet back home with you. We also work with a cremation service that will pick your pet up from our clinic. You can choose having a clay paw print to a communal cremation, meaning you do not get your pets ashes back. Or you can choose to get a private cremation, where your pet will be cremated individually, and the ashes will be returned to you in a beautiful carved wooden urn.
