I received my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M over twenty years ago. After graduation, I moved to Wisconsin and then on to St. Paul Minnesota. I worked in several small animal practices, and then left private practice to establish a non-profit veterinary center in Minneapolis. The winters proved too fierce for me, and, loving what Denver offered, I packed my bags and never looked back. Since arriving in Denver, I joined Planned Pethood Plus as an associate veterinarian, and worked there for the last 12 years, leaving in January to open my own practice. I live in beautiful northwest Denver with my husband and daughter, along with two cats and an ill-behaved Chihuahua. In my spare time I enjoy knitting and chronic remodeling of my house.
Heather was raised in Denver and went to the University of Arizona and she received her Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science. Then she moved back to Colorado and graduated from CSU Veterinary School in 1998. Since then she has worked for the Dumb Friends League, Harrison Memorial and also in a private practice. Heather also did 2 years in a cat only clinic; which taught her that she really enjoys working with cats but that she missed working with dogs. At home she has 2 kids, 2 dogs, 2 cats and thankfully only 1 husband.
Susan is the newest member of our team, and we're so glad to have her! Susan graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal technology here in Colorado in 2001. After graduating, she moved back to the southeast to be closer to her family, and continued to work as a vet tech. She has recently moved back to Colorado with her husband Mike, their rottweiler/chow mix named "Darby", a terrier mix named "Sandy" and a cat named "White Kitty". In her spare time she enjoys hiking, camping and exploring the mountains with her husband.
Jessie is our wonderful Friday technician. Being a vet tech has always been a lifelong goal of Jessie's, she has worked in various forms of the pet industry since 1998. Jessie moved to Colorado from the Midwest in 2007 to earn her Associates at Bel-Rea and has been a Certified Vet Tech since 2009. Jessie works in Ge neral Practice as well as Emergency & Critical Care. When she is not at work she is usually at the dog park with her Chihuahua mix "Chiquita", pampering her Maine Coon "Ragamuffin", or hanging out with friends.
Jennifer has been our office manager at Lakeside Animal Hospital since we opened, and she loves it. She has been in the vet care business since 2004 and is learning every step of the way. She believes that affordable, friendly vet care is the way to go. She has a large, 17lbs - gold tabby named Captain Gus. She loves that her job will let her take pictures of the animals to put on their "Profile" . In her spare time Jennifer likes to walk trails, be outside, read "Post Secret" and watch sports.
