We provide the following services:
We are open for wellness appointments Monday through Friday. During a wellness visit, the doctor will do a thorough physical exam on your pet, and answer any questions you may have about your pet's health. The doctor can make suggestions for your pet regarding proper diet, exercise, and dental care. We also ask that you bring your pet's vaccine history with you, so we can ensure they are up to date on vaccines.

The term "pocket pets" refers to small animals, often rodents that are kept as pets and could fit in your pocket. This definition has expanded to include a few animals that are not quite that little, but that are housed in cages. Common pocket pets include rats, mice, rabbits, gerbils, hamsters, guinea pigs, and ferrets. Owning a pocket pet can be a big responsibility. It is very important that you learn how to properly take care of your pet and about diseases that it might give to people.

We are available to perform surgeries on Mondays and Fridays. We ask that you bring in your pet between 7:30 AM and 9:00 AM the day of your surgery appointment. We also ask that your animal does not eat after 10:00 PM the night before or the morning of surgery. We do offer pre-anesthetic blood work for all of our surgery patients; but we DO REQUIRE it for any patient over the age of 7 years. The pre-anestetic blood testing allows us to screen for underlying liver and kidney disease, diabetes, anemia and dehydration in apparently healthy patients. For most of our surgeries you are able to pick up your animal in the afternoon. We will be able to give you discharge instructions at the time of pick up. Payment is also do in full at the time of pick up.
Here at LAH, we have in-house laboratory equipment and x-ray capabilities; therefore, we can do basic bloodwork and x-rays your pet may need. We also work with a local laboratory where we send specimans for further analysis. If we feel your pet needs further diagnostics that we cannot provide here, we will refer you to a specialist or animal hospital that can perform those services.
The American Veterinary Dental Society reports that 80 percent of dogs and 70 percent of cats show signs of oral disease by age three. By the time most owners recognize oral disease in their pets, the problem is chronic and progressive. We can perform dental cleanings on Mondays and Fridays. All of our dentals are done by appointment. Dentals include ultrasonic scaling, polishing, full oral examination and fluoride treatment. Tooth extractions, antibiotics, and pain medications are included when nescessary.

We carry many prescriptions foods that your animal may need. We offer our clients Purina, Royal Canin and Hill's Prescription diets. We order our food on the First Tuesday of every month. Once the order has been placed it does take a day to get to our clinic.
*If you would like to place an order please contact Jennifer on the first Monday of the month.
Please be aware that some special food orders will need to be pre-paid.
We understand that it can be a very difficult decision to put your companion to sleep. When you and your family have decided the time is right, we prefer to do this by appointment. You can choose if you wish to be with your pet during the whole appointment or just for a small part. When you arrive for your appointment, the doctor will begin by giving a intramuscular anesthetic injection. Then when your pet is unconscious, we will do the final intravenous injection. You have some options for the aftercare of your pet. You are more then welcome to take your pet back home with you. We also work with a cremation service that will pick your pet up from our clinic. You can choose a communal cremation, meaning you do not get your pets ashes back. Or you can choose to get a private cremation, where your pet will be cremated individually, and the ashes will be returned to you in a beautiful carved wooden box.
Mobile euthanasias are by appointment only. Dr. Foreman will be primarily available on Tuesdays and Thursdays for this service. The charge for the house call will vary, depending on the travel distance, your choice of cremation, and the weight of your pet. Please call our office for more information.
